Important dates:
1968-1969. First group of North American students who came to study at the Spanish for Foreigners program at Sagunto Adventist College, located in Valencia at that time. The students came from Pacific Union College (California).
1970. The North American Adventist Colleges Abroad consortium is created to send North American students to study abroad in different places around the world, including our program.
1974. The Sagunto Adventist College opens at its current location and the Spanish program is named LCH: Lengua y Cultura Hispánicas.
1993. The first time our students take the DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) exam at the University of Valencia.
2004. ESDES participates in the creation of the international association of languages schools, SDALanguages Europe.
2005. ESDES receives its first accreditation from the University of Alcalá with the official seal CEELE (Calidad en la Enseñanza del Español como Lengua Extranjera).
2013. ESDES signs an agreement with International Courses from the University of Salamanca (CIUSAL) to become an exam center for BULATS (Business Language Testing Service).
2016. ESDES becomes an exam center for SIELE (Sistema Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española) www.siele.org.
